Hello. I came from a family of hill-billies in Siberia. As of now i’m a student at one of the branches of MEPhI hoping to get a job at our scientific research institute of technical physics. I’m pursuing a bachelor’s degree in software engineering with specialization in embedded systems and its applications in robotics (actually i do want to get another degree in the future, but with the specialization in electronics and hardware engineering).
IMO, modern computer science is a joke and isn’t particularly useful if one does not use it for the benefit of applied sciences and engineering (unless one wants to be an errand boy for managers and corporate executives).
When i’m going to be a geezer i just want to live a frugal life, tinkering with devices.

Unlike probably most of you on this forum i’m not that fluent in philosophy, history, literature or theology. And what’s more, it is hard for me to become keen on anything unless i see an obvious use for the subject matter which can lead to more or less corporeal results. This is something i wish to improve on because i feel like this is one of the causes of my severely limited mind (basically, i’m a simpleton who just happens to deal with engineering).

My other fields of interest:
- low-level programming;
- everything related to FPGAs and hardware design;
- PCB design;
- old hardware;
- FDM;
- Russian and soviet rock and jazz (well, that’s the odd one out).

I apologize if this intro was kind of chaotic. Please do tell of any mistakes in the text if there are ones to note

Welcome Fantomas! through my love for philosophic, historic and theological studies I feel I posses more information with no apparent purpose than ever before in my life. I return from one of these journeys pursuing useless information only to find myself leaving for another odyssey right afterwards. I, through this, by using said purposeless observations, believe I may be equip to speak when you say:

Many things we see as useful aren't seen that way as the result of our individual thinking or imagination determining such. Rather the usefulness of things including information is largely evaluated by outside entities and ingrained into us through social media algorithms, parents and friends, school etc. What may be dismissed as "useless information" is often just knowledge that cannot be exploited by these algorithms and entities. What may be acknowledged as "useful information" is often just a tool cleverly disguised by these algorithms and entities as knowledge.

For the purposes of brevity I'll be looking forwards to our correspondence, God bless
