I often watch the heavens above. Normally when I find myself in nature, where I'm usually alone. A.C has said in some of his videos that seeing detail, and not assessing said details, that it's a fool's errant and that those who choose so only fool themselves. I share that urgency to evaluate, particularly in the skies.

Personally I find that by watching the blazing stars and the moon, a great many epiphanies glimmer into my mind. I believe that gazing has put a positive behavior in myself and a call. A behavior which has made assessing myself a habit and a calling to further my own observations.

I sometimes see night skies full of detail, ripe for closeness to God. But on other nights (like tonight) my eyes have nowhere to go in the sky thanks to the sweeping plumage that's blotting it.

Generally I am not superstitious about many things in my life. But due to the frequency of nights such as tonight, in combination with a growing skepticism that these clouds uniformly covering the heavens are natural, a feeling that somethings off is stirring within me.

I'm sharing this in hopes that the intelligent and observant people here, that some of their eyes have taken to the stars and have felt what I've attempted to put in so many words.

There was a time in my life where I thought that there was a woman (i.e. "soulmate"), who would take away many, if not all, of my deficiencies: one who would "complete" me. And it was during this time that the I frequently partook in the activity that you describe here. It was quasi-pagan, in that I found enjoyment in the beauty of the stars as if they had given it to themselves. I saw the glory of God's creation, but I would not recognize Him as the one from whom the glory came.

And this is the judgment: because the light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than the light: for their works were evil. For every one that doth evil hateth the light, and cometh not to the light, that his works may not be reproved. (John 3.19-20)

It is certainly not that all admiration of the heavens is pagan. Insofar as one magnifies the God of all creation through such, it is good to do so.

How great are thy works, O Lord? thou hast made all things in wisdom: the earth is filled with thy riches (Psalm 103.240)

But it does seem to be that all pagans have some kind of fondness for the heavenly bodies.

If I beheld the sun when it shined, and the moon going in brightness: And my heart in secret hath rejoiced, and I have kissed my hand with my mouth, which is a very great iniquity, and a denial against the most high God. (Job 31.26-28)

Pagans deny the one true God and instead worship the false gods of the sky: sun, moon, stars, etc. Yet still, these things are not there to bring dishonor to God's name, but rather to lead all peoples to himself, even if some may choose to reject Him and appropriate His creation for their own purposes.

Because that which is known of God is manifest in them. For God hath manifested it unto them. For the invisible things of him, from the creation of the world, are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made; his eternal power also, and divinity: so that they are inexcusable. (Romans 1.19-20)
