Origin of the Word from Acts 12:4 (Image from an Interlinear Bible)
The word appears in Acts 12:4 in the King James Version (KJV). King Herod Agrippa imprisoned the Apostle Peter and handed him over to four quaternions of soldiers (totaling 16 soldiers) to guard him securely.
