Something's been really bothering me lately, and I figure this is the only place I can say it without getting a lecture from some holier than thou type.

It seems like every single day, there's another rule coming down from on high telling us how we're supposed to live. What we can drive, what we can eat, what we're allowed to say, how we have to think.

They say it's all for our "health." That's their favorite line. But I've noticed something. When it comes to things that keep us weak and dependent on their system, they're all for it. They'll push pills on you from sunrise to sunset. You're feeling a little down? Here's a prescription. Your back hurts from 12 hours on a construction site? Here's another one. They got a whole system set up to keep you paying them every month for the rest of your life. And if you dare question a doctor, you're some kind of anti-science nut.

But God forbid a man finds something that helps him unwind after a day of breaking his back, something that grows from the ground and isn't making a billionaire in a lab coat richer. Suddenly, that's the greatest evil in the world and you're a criminal. It makes no sense. Why is it that their drugs are actually legal, and others are not?

It's not about safety. If it was about safety, they'd care about the thousands of folks dying from the stuff they prescribe. It's about control. They want to be the only ones with the answers. They want to be the gatekeepers of what's allowed. They want us weak, sore, and dependent on their system.

I'm just saying, I'm tired of it. I'm tired of being treated like a child who can't make his own decisions. A man ought to be free to choose what he puts in his own body to handle the pain this world puts him through. Real freedom is being able to tell the elites and their "experts" to mind their own business when it comes to our own bodies.

One of the problems is that I, and others, are liable for others' decisions. Every payday, a certain amount of MY income is stripped away for Medicaid and other forms of social insurance. Why should I, or others, have to pay for a man's lung cancer treatment when they've been warned their entire life that smoking causes cancer?

On an unrelated note, I do agree with you on profitability being a factor in the legalization of drugs. I hear that peptides aren't produced in the US, precisely because you can't patent them; and that the People's Republic of China (PROC) manufactures the majority of peptides in the market these days. The same PROC is infamous for producing fake protein in baby formula, which led to mental retardation in some cases.

Herbal Medicine is viewed as ineffective and Pseudo-Science, despite working well for non-Chronic symptoms. I've treated a Toothache with ginger powder, and strong Ginger tea.

Caffeine is everywhere, and The withdrawal isn't fun. Coca-Cola Company puts Chemicals that the Body turns into Serotonin in their drinks here in the UK, I don't know if they do it in other Countries but I assume they do.

The Chemical the Chinese Manufacturer used was Melamine. It Binds to Cyanuric Acid, Forming a Resin inside the Kidneys.

Right, I get that but that´s something really different from banning stuff because there´s also lots of food products that can cause cancer. My idea would be to just get rid of most government altogether. If things were truly private, why should the government care if people are doing drugs with their friends, privately? Also, alcohol is totally legal and there are far worse things that happen with drinking than with weed, just to name one example.

Thanks for the correction. There's a Wikipedia page on the Chinese Milk scandal. Evidently the danger was kidney damage. I should have done a little fact-checking before spreading hearsay.

I'm in agreement with limited government. Still, there are some drugs, like heroine, that I wouldn't want circulating around my neighborhood. I can also say that while I don't like bureaucracy, I do appreciate things like food safety restaurant inspections. A few months ago I checked myself into the ER because I was severely dehydrated from food poisoning I likely got from a sushi restaurant. Overall I tend to agree with Cromwell, that a government with multiple jurisdictions, checking and balancing each other out is best for Americans and Westerners in general; but that's a conversation for another channel (not the Off-Topic channel).
